Crwth

The Welsh crwth is a member of the “bowed lyre” instrument family. It has a yoke neck, four playing strings, two drone strings, and an unusually-shaped bridge that doubles as sound post. Ken has created a replica of the oldest surviving crwth made by Richard Evans in 1742, currently housed in St. Fagan’s National Museum of Welsh History in Cardiff. The replica is made from a single piece of curly maple with a spruce top.
